About

SuhYoung Yun is a writer, journalist, and creative director active in the cultural field, especially focused on travel, design, art, architecture and food. 

 

She is the author of Switzerland: A Cultural Travel Guide (스위스 예술 여행), published July 18, 2025 by Ahn Graphics, a renowned design publisher in South Korea. Yun was formerly the Cultural and Public Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Switzerland in Seoul, a position which inspired her to write the cultural travel guide. 

SuhYoung Yun has extensive media experience - her career spans over a decade as a culture, travel and lifestyle journalist, contributing to newspapers, magazines, radio, and television. She previously worked as a staff reporter for The Korea Times where she reported mainly on lifestyle and culture, and currently writes for the London-based design magazine Wallpaper* based in Seoul. Her previous media involvements include writing for South China Morning Post (SCMP), appearing as regular guest on TBS eFM radio in Seoul, and serving as local producer of a documentary on North and South Korean food for Al Jazeera network.

She currently runs the The Seoul Collective through which she organizes cultural immersion programs to enhance cultural understanding between Korea and the world. Previously, she ran a media consulting agency, Sync, through which she helped businesses and individuals get their stories told. ​

Yun holds a BA in International Studies from Ewha Womans University and an MA in Strategic Design and Management from Parsons School of Design - The New School (inaugural class of the Global Executive Master of Science (GEMS) in Strategic Design and Management). She was previously the Seoul representative of The New School's Alumni Council.
